New Flights from Chicago to Mexico’s Hot Spots
American Airlines is strengthening its network from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) by adding two daily flights to important cities in Mexico. From October 26, 2025, customers will be able to take daily services from Chicago to Mexico City (MEX), the vibrant capital city famous for its culture, history, and cuisine. Mexico City tourists can see the Zócalo, Chapultepec Park, and the National Museum of Anthropology.

And from Dec. 18, American will introduce daily holiday service from Chicago to Queretaro (QRO), the charming colonial city near the popular tourist spot San Miguel de Allende. Queretaro is also the gateway to one of Mexico’s leading wine regions, and it’s the ideal retreat for culture- and nature-conscious travelers. The winter service will run until January 5, 2026.
These additional routes belong to American’s broader effort to offer travelers more sunny getaway places. With more than 20 international places available from Chicago, travelers can discover the ultimate getaway to fit them.

Extending Philadelphia’s Influence to the Caribbean and Latin America
American Airlines continues to offer the widest range of destinations out of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) of all carriers. American announces one more exciting route to its lineup for the 2025 winter schedule. The airline will launch new daily Philadelphia-Santo Domingo (SDQ), the Dominican Republic capital, service on December 18. Santo Domingo offers visitors the best of picturesque coastlines, culture, and the chance to experience the city’s history as one of the oldest colonial towns in the Americas.
In addition to the new service to Santo Domingo, American is expanding its existing Philadelphia routes. For the winter holiday season from December 18 to January 5, the airline will increase frequencies to Aruba (AUA), San Juan (SJU), and St. Maarten (SXM), providing travelers with even more convenience in booking trips to these Caribbean islands.
Miami Becomes the Gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America
As American Airlines’ principal gateway to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America, Miami International Airport is in for some robust expansion during the winter season. The airline will operate 415 peak daily flights from Miami from Dec. 18 to January 5 and offer travelers access to 73 regional cities.
American will add flights on eight key routes from Miami, augmenting frequencies to favorite routes like Kingston, Jamaica (KIN), Marsh Harbour, Bahamas (MHH), and North Eleuthera, Bahamas (ELH). Additional frequencies will enable leisure travelers to easily plan vacations to these favorite places, with plentiful options for sun-and-beach travelers and aficionados of Caribbean warmth and hospitality.
Furthermore, Miami will see additional flights to San Juan (SJU), Santiago, Dominican Republic (STI), and Tortola, British Virgin Islands (EIS), as American seeks to tap the increased interest in traveling to these warm destinations.
