Uzbekistan to Launch its New Unified National Tourism Platform and Mobile App in 2026 for the Streamline Services, Improve Infrastructure and Enhance Traveler Experience

Published on November 21, 2025

From July 1, 2026, Uzbekistan intends to introduce an integrated national tourism platform with a mobile app. This will be another big move of the country toward gaining a more modern tourism infrastructure and making services easier for travelers. According to the presidential resolution signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this would thus promote the whole visitor experience via an integrated digital solution for tourists coming to the country.

The system will make easier the whole process of traveling around Uzbekistan by including all important services in one smooth system: ticketing, accommodation registration, and tourist information. This will alleviate the burden for visitors as well as local businesses navigating through the various offerings that the country’s tourism has to offer. This project will enhance efficiency and contribute toward sustainable development in the tourism sector.

A Digital SIM Card System for Streamlined Tourist Registration

One of the key features of the new platform will be its ability to collect tourist data upon crossing the state border (with the tourist’s consent) and link this information to a tourist electronic SIM card. This will enable the automatic registration of visitors at their temporary place of stay, simplifying what is often a tedious administrative process for international travelers. The platform will create a more seamless travel experience by eliminating the need for manual registration at hotels or other accommodations, improving both efficiency and convenience.

A Single Ticketing System for Easier Access to Uzbekistan’s Attractions

To further enhance the tourism experience, Uzbekistan will implement a single ticket system, which will allow tourists to purchase tickets online for all participating tourism facilities, including museums, cultural heritage sites, and recreational centers. This system will provide a more accessible and user-friendly way for visitors to plan their itineraries, eliminating the need for physical tickets and improving overall visitor engagement. The ticketing platform will also integrate with the tourist SIM card system, providing a unified approach to booking and accessing cultural and historical attractions across the country.

Additionally, the platform will offer a digital guide system that includes interactive maps, audio guides, video guides, and online broadcasts for excursions. This will allow tourists to have a more immersive and interactive experience, enabling them to explore Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture with the aid of technology. By providing access to real-time information and immersive multimedia, the platform aims to enhance the quality of the tourist experience and encourage longer stays in the country.

Simplified Accommodation and Rental Processes with New App

The “Tax” mobile application will also be introduced to facilitate the rental of country houses by local residents. The app will allow users to easily register a rental property under a single individual and specify the number of vacationers. This initiative will make it easier for visitors to find authentic accommodations in rural or less-touristed areas of Uzbekistan, promoting local tourism and supporting small businesses. By simplifying these processes, Uzbekistan aims to provide more diverse and personalized options for travelers seeking unique stays outside of traditional hotels.

Tourism Workforce Development through Training Programs

In an effort to improve the quality of tourism services, the government will introduce training programs for tourism employees, aimed at raising the standards of service in the sector. The Samarkand campus of the International Tourism Academy, operated under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization, will offer short-term professional development courses lasting up to one month, as well as long-term retraining programs that may extend up to eight months. These courses will focus on enhancing skills in customer service, tourism management, and regional knowledge, ensuring that the tourism workforce is well-equipped to meet the needs of both domestic and international visitors.

By investing in its workforce, Uzbekistan is taking a proactive approach to ensuring that the tourism industry is prepared to handle the growing demand for high-quality travel experiences. The education and training of tourism professionals will help to sustain growth in the sector while promoting the country as a premium destination.

Addressing Domestic Travel Challenges for Seamless Journeys

In addition to promoting international tourism, the platform will address key challenges in domestic travel. Following a videoconference on June 3, 2024, where President Mirziyoyev highlighted the difficulties faced by tourists when booking domestic flights and trains, the government has committed to creating an online platform that will provide full information about domestic travel options and facilitate ticket purchases. This move is intended to simplify domestic tourism for local travelers and encourage regional exploration within Uzbekistan, further driving the country’s tourism sustainability and accessibility.

The Future Impact of the National Tourism Platform on Uzbekistan’s Global Competitiveness

The national tourism platform and mobile application go a long way toward positioning Uzbekistan as a modern, competitive destination for global travelers. Equipped with new digital tools and integrated services at every touchpoint, the national tourism platform will help Uzbekistan meet the growing demand for efficient, convenient, and personalized travels. As global tourism grows, adopting digital technology is essential to keep pace with evolving expectations.

This initiative is likely to significantly influence the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, increasing foreign visitors, jobs, and subsequently boosting the economy. Development of infrastructure for smart tourism in combination with a focus on cultural heritage and local experiences will further contribute to the sustainability of the country’s tourism sector. As Uzbekistan opens up to digital transformation, it is bound to emerge as a better-connected, global tourism hub that will offer both modernity and rich cultural history to tourists from across the world.
