The tourism segment of Vietnam is expected to go back to the levels before the pandemic by 2025, said the concerned authorities.

In 2019, tourism accounted for 9.2 per cent of Vietnam’s yearly gross domestic product. It witnessed a record-setting 18 million tourists from around the world and 720 trillion Vietnamese dong ($30.2 billion) in earnings, stated the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

By 2030, Vietnam is targeting to attract 35 million worldwide visitors with a stable development of 13 to 15 per cent each year with the help of an extensive range of incentive measures, said the country’s tourism authorities in their up-to-date expansion approach.

With the aim to station itself as a perfect tourism location in Southeast Asia, Vietnam will come up with an excellent and sustainable industry to attract high-spending and long-staying visitors.

The tourism authorities in Vietnam are considering boosting the number of foreign tourists from traditional markets comprising the northeast Asian countries, Europe, the ASEAN region, Russia, North America and Oceania. Vietnam also aims to target new developing markets like India and the Middle Eastern countries, launching more online promotional campaigns to increase responsiveness about its prospects.

Vietnam anticipates reopening its doors to a multitude of projects focused toward tourism to lure visitors from abroad who are fascinated toward medical, beauty treatments and relaxation activities mingling meetings, incentives, conferences and events.
