Villa Igiea allures guests with a sensorial experience

From December 1, 2023, to January 6, 2024, Rocco Forte Hotels’ Palermo destination, Villa Igiea, founded by the Florio family, is set to enchant guests with a sensorial experience capturing the essence of the Belle Époque. Collaborating with Perrier-Jouët, the celebration combines contemporary perspectives with the savoir-vivre of the Belle Époque, centered around the Art Nouveau theme.

The Igiea Terrazza Bar will feature three debut signature cocktails, crafted by renowned mixologist Salvatore Calabrese, using Perrier-Jouët’s Blason Rosè and Grand Brut champagnes. These creations include “Christmas with Jouët,” a blend of raspberry puree, pomegranate juice, Benedectine, and Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, deemed iconic by Calabrese. “Big Santa,” a tequila-based concoction with fresh light tropical notes, and “Jingle Fizz,” featuring Hoxton Banana Rum, lime juice, fresh mint, and Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, round out the trio of sophisticated libations.

Chef Fulvio Pierangelini curates a special food pairing experience, spotlighting the Arancina with Sciacca prawns and lemon, complementing the exceptional French bubbly.

The immersive journey extends beyond culinary delights, incorporating the aesthetic dimension. The Art Nouveau movement’s exuberance and creative freedom inspire a floral-centric experience for guests. Villa Igiea showcases “Hypernature,” a temporary art installation by Bethan Laura Wood, commissioned by Perrier-Jouët. Previously featured at “Design Miami” in 2018, this installation explores new forms of expression and marks its Palermo debut.

Maison Perrier-Jouët, founded in 1811, is distinguished by its love of nature and passion for art. The Chardonnay grape variety defines the House’s floral style, evolving in harmony with the Art Nouveau movement’s spirit. Nature remains a primary inspiration, cultivating the Earth as a common garden to craft unique champagnes. Bethan Laura Wood interprets this vision in her dazzling masterpiece, “HyperNature.”

Renowned bartender Salvatore Calabrese, known as ‘The Maestro,’ contributes his expertise to the celebration. Over four decades, he has mixed drinks for dignitaries and celebrities, creating iconic cocktails and emphasizing the concept of liquid history.

Bethan Laura Wood blurs the lines between art and design, elevating the mundane into the extraordinary. Her practice engages audiences globally, drawing inspiration from the crossover spaces between nature and the manmade.

This immersive celebration, a fusion of cultural heritage, contemporary art, and gastronomic delights, offers guests a unique sensorial journey during the festive season at Villa Igiea. The collaboration with Perrier-Jouët, the expertise of Salvatore Calabrese, and the artistic touch of Bethan Laura Wood promise an enchanting Belle Époque experience.
