The villages, development of disadvantaged regions, and transmigration ministry recently explained that Law No. 6 of 2014 regarding villages has brought fast growth and development of tourism in village areas.
Through the law for village, village governments now can separately handle their natural and culturally enriched possibilities, which external factors had monopolized for all these years, said Nursaidi, the Director for development of village facilities of PDTT Ministry in Padang on Sunday.
Nursaidi made this declaration at the time of explaining the candidates taking part in a national youth conference. The theme of the conference was -Cultural Collaboration in the Expedition for Villages in Hidden Paradise. It was held by Andalas University.
Before law came into being, it was uncommon to find rural communities and governments controlling the potential of their own villages in tourism, he noted.
He mentioned that the performance of the Village Law then radically distorted the situation, as it gave rural governments and communities with an equal opportunity, similar to that exercised by municipal, district, and provincial governments, to separately direct the possessions and potentials of their individual provinces.
Furthermore, people and equipment in villages can at present tap into their villages’ tangible and intangible assets.
