Travelers from Bahian now have expanded international flight choices from Salvador for their mid-year holiday planning. The upcoming second semester will see the introduction of non-stop flights from Salvador, the capital of Bahia, to Santiago, Chile, courtesy of Sky Airlines. This addition enhances the connectivity between Salvador’s airport and Santiago Airport, both of which are part of the VINCI Airports network.

Starting July 1st, non-stop flights to Santiago will operate on Fridays and Mondays. The Salvador to Santiago route will include four weekly flights—two direct and two with a stopover in Montevideo. Notably, Sky Airlines also provides direct flights to Uruguay’s capital on Tuesdays and Sundays.

With these direct flights, travelers can reach Santiago from Salvador in under six hours, bypassing the need for layovers. Chile currently ranks as the third largest source of international tourists to Brazil.

“The new operation offers flexibility for both longer trips and shorter ones, for example, in the case of tourists interested in just enjoying a weekend during the Chilean snow season, between June and September. This is yet another itinerary formatting that strengthens our connectivity with highly sought-after destinations”, says Marcus Campos, Marketing and Air Promotion Manager at Salvador Bahia Airport.

Salvador Bahia Airport now boasts direct flights to two European and three Latin American capitals, becoming a highly preferred gateway in Brazil. The airport offers non-stop flights to Madrid, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo, with Madrid and Lisbon being long-standing favorites and the Montevideo route having been reintroduced earlier this year.

Air Europa and TAP Air Portugal provide the non-stop services to Madrid and Lisbon, respectively, while Aerolíneas Argentinas and Gol Linhas Aéreas manage the direct flights to Buenos Aires. Sky Airlines is in charge of the Montevideo connection.
