VinHMS, Vietnam pioneer in Hospitality Tech, eyes Southeast Asia at 5th anniversary

VinHMS celebrates five years of innovative hospitality tech, marking milestones in hotel software and expanding its reach in Southeast Asia.

Today marks a significant milestone for VinHMS, a trailblazer in the field of hospitality technology and a trusted software collaborator for eminent entities like Melia Hotels International (MHI) and Vinpearl. The company is commemorating its five-year journey of groundbreaking achievements with a special dinner themed “Operations. Transformed.” This theme underscores their commitment to fostering continuous innovation and transformation in their daily operations.

One of the standout moments in VinHMS’s history was its remarkable performance during the COVID-19 pandemic peak in Vietnam. In partnership with MHI and other prestigious associates, VinHMS set a new benchmark in hotel technology implementation. In a challenging scenario, VinHMS efficiently managed operations across 35 hotels in 15 cities, handling an impressive 14,000 rooms in just 98 days. This achievement led to VinHMS becoming the first Vietnamese hospitality tech company to be part of HTNG (Hotel Technology Next Generation) and the first in the country to integrate its solutions with Google Hotels.

Mr. Viet Dang, the IT Director at MHI, reflected on their collaboration: “In under a year, we seamlessly integrated 13 hotels with MHI’s Central Reservation System. This swift transition led to immediate improvements in business performance. The MHI ecosystem encompasses a broad range of applications and features, yet we encountered no integration difficulties with CiHMS.”

VinHMS excels in delivering superior technology solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of hospitality businesses. Beyond its flagship hospitality management software, CiHMS, VinHMS provides an array of innovative products, including CiAMS for asset management, CiTMS for theme park management, and CiTravel, a digital transformation tool for smaller hotels.

Mr. Hoang Nguyen, the CEO of VinHMS, emphasized: “Our goal is to establish an open platform that lays the groundwork for innovation in hotels. While our platform includes all the standard operational tools, its true value lies in its ability to seamlessly connect and integrate with numerous tech providers, thus optimizing costs, boosting revenue, and elevating guest experiences in hotels.”

Having established a strong foothold in Vietnam, VinHMS is now poised to extend its technological expertise to the first hotel outside Vietnam, eyeing expansion in the promising Southeast Asian market, specifically targeting Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

To make inroads into the Southeast Asian market, VinHMS has devised a strategic approach to evolve its technology platform, focusing on two core principles: openness and standardization.

The platform’s openness allows CiHMS to cater to the diverse needs of the Southeast Asian markets, ranging from integration with VNPT for electronic invoicing in Vietnam to connecting with local payment gateways like ABA in Cambodia and OPN in Thailand. This approach ensures that CiHMS can offer tailored experiences in each market.

Simultaneously, adherence to international standards such as ISO 27001:2013 and PCI/DSS highlights CiHMS’s reliability, ensuring VinHMS’s solutions meet the rigorous integration requirements of world-leading hotel chains. This commitment to global standards and building international partnerships remains a key focus for VinHMS as it continues to enhance its reputation globally.
