On 7th Jan, a flight from Virgin Atlantic which was destined for Barbados was compelled to land at Manchester Airport after the cockpit allegedly got filled with sudden smoke.
At around 1.50pm on Sunday, the plane was suddenly brought to a landing after the pilots reported about the smell of “dense, acrid smoke”, as per the information on the aviation website AirLive.
From Manchester, the flight VS77 had taken off for Bridgetown roughly an hour before but was compelled to turn back after 20 minutes. The aircraft touched down carefully and was immediately taken care of by the prompt firefighters at the airport.
Virgin Atlantic ascribed the aborted flight as a “technical issue”. A spokesperson from the airline company informed The Independent that the VS77 from Manchester to Barbados has returned to Manchester because of a major technical problem. The company also said that the safety and security of their customers as well as the crew members is always their priority and they apologized for any inconvenience that might have caused.
The flight was called off and all customers who were affected by the incident have been rebooked on alternative flights.
