Virgin Australia Wins Big at 2025 Airline Excellence Awards
Virgin Australia’s cabin crew have once again proven they’re at the top of their game, securing the title of World’s Best Cabin Crew for an impressive seventh consecutive year in the 2025 AirlineRatings.com Airline Excellence Awards.
Adding to its success, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA)—the airline’s Western Australia-based regional and charter division—was named World’s Best Regional Airline for the second year in a row.

In a newly introduced category, Virgin Australia also landed third place in the global Hybrid Airlines ranking, trailing behind JetBlue and WestJet. This category recognizes airlines that successfully blend elements of both low-cost and full-service carriers.
The prestigious Airline Excellence Awards assess more than 380 airlines worldwide, evaluating them based on safety, value, passenger comfort, and innovation.

Virgin Australia’s continued recognition follows significant investments in new aircraft, upgraded interiors, in-seat power, onboard Wi-Fi, and other industry-first enhancements over the past four years.
Meanwhile, Jetstar secured second place in the Low-Cost Carrier category, while Air New Zealand (3) edged out Qantas (8) in the full-service airline rankings.
