Visama Mae Chan

The recently inaugurated Visama Mae Chan luxury tented camp in northern Thailand has declared its availability for exclusive corporate reservations. Launched in December, this fully five-star camp is specifically designed for corporate buyouts catering to board meetings, strategic planning retreats, and incentive reward bookings. Additionally, the property is open for private takeovers by families, friend groups, and intimate wedding parties.

Each booking will benefit from a designated in-house event manager to ensure seamless proceedings. VHG Hospitality Asia, the camp’s founders known for innovative hospitality projects, has crafted a service-oriented culture and property capable of accommodating ten executives and their partners. The camp features ten safari tents imported from South Africa and adapted for the northern Thai environment.

Christopher Stafford, co-founder of VHG Hospitality Asia, renowned for pioneering projects such as I37 Pillars Hotel Chiang Mai and Anantara Hotels, emphasizes the diverse activities available both within the tented camp and its surrounding areas, including guided hiking and biking trips, cooking classes, spa therapy, yoga, Tai Chi, archery, painting, and pottery classes. The location offers easy access to evocative temples, mountain landscapes, and hill tribe villages.

The camp is suitable for both indoor and outdoor meetings, with evening options like star-lit fire-side movie screenings and BBQs at the Ambalama lounge area. Spanning nearly five hectares, the retreat provides a private, bespoke, and secure setting for companies, adding a touch of novelty with its charming safari tents.

The opulent tents, situated on raised platforms in a serene hill country setting, range from 48 to 80 sqm (517-860 sq ft), with amenities including air conditioning, concierge app-equipped mobile phones, French press coffee pots, WiFi, rain showers, safety deposit boxes, refrigerators, bathrobes and slippers for both genders, bathtubs, large balconies, and an evening turndown service. The largest tent includes two bedrooms.

Highlighting the culinary experience, head chef Suphannat ‘Miu’ Amnuayrit collaborates with companies to create personalized dining-by-design menus, or groups can opt for a full à la carte experience. The culinary team excels in preparing a wide array of Asian, Western, Thai, and northern Thai dishes to impeccable standards.

Visama Mae Chan has also forged a partnership with the Friends of Thai Daughters Foundation, with young women university graduates already employed at the resort. Corporate groups have the opportunity to support the foundation’s work during their stay.

In terms of accessibility, Visama Mae Chan is a 40-minute transfer from Chiang Rai International Airport, which can be reached via a 90-minute flight from Bangkok or a 130-minute flight from Phuket.
