Visit Loudoun gives away tourism awards

The 27th Annual Meeting and Tourism Awards of Visit Loudoun brought almost 300 people under one roof on Friday at Lansdowne Resort to get aware about an update on recent efforts and to pay a tribute to the tourism leaders.


Besides, the President and CEO of Visit Loudoun, Beth Erickson, introduced the current DEIA projects, which are aimed on guarantying that any disable person, visible or non-apparent, are included in the community fully, she said. The team is showing – “Welcome Here Sensory Kits” which include headphones that cancels noise, quiet toys, a weighted lap pad, and non-verbal communication cards. These kids will be able to stay in area hotels and B&Bs along with locals wineries, attractions, breweries and cafes and restaurants, Erickson said.


The main speakers of the event was Beth Ziebarth, the Head Diversity Officer & Director of Access Smithsonian, who talked about design and practices related to programming that area the attractions related to hospitality should think about in order to be more inclusive.

Danijela Mihajlovic, the 2022 Tourism Manager of the Year – Homewood Suites by Hilton Leesburg
Allen Stoudt, the 2022 Back-of-the House Hero – Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum
Shama Khan, the 2022 Front-of-the-House Hero – Washington Dulles Airport Marriot
Lori Wiegand – the 2022 Loudoun Certified Tourism Ambassador of the Year
