The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is thrilled to share its participation in the esteemed World Travel Market London 2023 (WTM London) taking place from November 6th to November 8th, 2023, at ExCel London. At this influential event, MMPRC is showcasing the Sunny Side of Life alongside 181 representatives from 92 prominent industry partners in the Maldives tourism sector. The Maldivian delegation at WTM London is led by Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of MMPRC.
Travel industry professionals from all over the world come together at WTM London, one of the top global platforms for the sector, to facilitate important business deals and networking opportunities. Since 1980, WTM London has been a crucial yearly global event supporting the expansion of the tourism sector.
The Maldives is making a significant presence at WTM London 2023 with a spacious double-decker stand covering 500 sqm. The stand is designed to highlight the unique beauty and experiences of the Maldives. It includes 91 co-exhibitor counters, 51 B2B meeting tables, industry meeting areas, and an ‘experiential zone’ with a presentation area and an ‘Underwater tunnel’ walkway tunnel showcasing marine life. A Maldives Press Conference will be held on November 7, 2023, as part of the event.
At the Maldives stand, visitors can engage in various activities including industry presentations by renowned resorts like Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, Le Meridien Maldives Resort & Spa, and Fairmont Maldives. Participants can place their names on a coral frame replica, contributing to the growth of real corals dedicated to them, fostering the Maldives’ natural beauty.
Visit Maldives has been working tirelessly throughout the year to ensure increased arrivals from this traditionally and contemporarily significant market. Successfully executed activities in the UK market include a media partnership campaign with Wanderlust.
Visit Maldives has undertaken various initiatives to boost arrivals from the UK market, such as media partnerships with Wanderlust, joint marketing campaigns with Premier Holidays, and participation in Travel Bulletin Indian Ocean Showcase. They’ve also collaborated with National Geographic Traveller and conducted a Destination Training Session with Emirates Airlines to enhance their outreach efforts.
