Dakshina Kannada MP and State BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel said that by introducing Vistadome coaches on Mangaluru-Bengaluru-Mangaluru day trains, the Railways is attempting to promote nature tourism together with religious tourism.
Flagging off the maiden journey of Vistadome coaches on Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwantpur Weekly Special Express (Train No 06540) in Mangaluru, Mr. Kateel said that the Mangaluru-Bengaluru trains also touch Kukke Subrahmanya, the famous pilgrimage center of India, besides traversing the Western Ghats. Hence, passengers can enjoy both the facilities.
Mr. Kateel thanked the Railway Ministry for introducing Vistadome coaches on the trains, and said that this gesture will go a long way in promoting tourism in the region comprising rich natural resources. Mr. Kateel further said that the Railways has taken a big leap after the Narendra Modi-led NDA government came to power in 2014 and enough funds are being released to embark on various infrastructure projects along with introducing new trains.
