Vistara Airline, a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has inaugurated two new flights connecting Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram, commencing operations from today onwards. This expansion introduces two additional flights on the route, enhancing the travel options for the general public from the start of April 2024.
The initiation of these flights by Vistara introduces a competitive dynamic to the existing services provided by India’s leading airline, IndiGo, and another Tata Group carrier, Air India Express. Until the end of March, these two airlines had been operating approximately eight flights daily between these cities. However, with Vistara’s entry into this route, as mentioned by the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Authority on a recent Sunday, the total number of flights available between Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram will increase to ten.
Regarding the schedule, Vistara’s inaugural flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru is set for an early morning departure, taking roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the journey. It is scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram at 5:55 am and arrive in Bengaluru at 7:15 am. Conversely, the late-night flight from Bengaluru is slated for a 10:40 pm departure, arriving in Thiruvananthapuram by 11:40 pm, with the flight duration being around an hour.
The second flight introduced by Vistara will depart from Bengaluru at 8:15 am, reaching Thiruvananthapuram at 9:30 am, with an estimated flight time of 1 hour and 5 minutes. The return leg from Thiruvananthapuram departs at 10:10 am, arriving in Bengaluru at 11:20 am, taking approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Furthermore, the ongoing process of merging Vistara with Air India, both entities under the Tata Group, was highlighted. The merger is in motion and awaits regulatory approval before its finalization.
