Waimea Plantation Cottages

Waimea Plantation Cottages, situated along the picturesque western coast of Kauai, is delighted to celebrate its 40th anniversary as a cherished historical resort in 2024. Originally established in 1884, the property has been a welcoming destination, offering the authentic charm of Hawaiian plantation homes since 1984.

“As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Waimea Plantation Cottages Resort, we are pleased to share our Anniversary Celebration Sale with new and returning guests,” said Gregg Enright, general manager at Waimea Plantation Cottages. “Known for spectacular sunsets and starry nights, Waimea Plantation Cottages offers an ideal location for a couple’s getaway, a family vacation, or to celebrate special occasions.”

Guests who book our 40th Anniversary Celebration Special will receive a 20% discount on our best available rates. At check-in, guests will enjoy complimentary Kauai Cookies, shell leis, a bottle of water each, and free coffee and tea.

To enhance comfort, especially during the peak summer months, the resort has recently upgraded all cottages with Fujitsu split unit air conditioners.

Our 59 cottages, ranging from one to five bedrooms and built from the 1880s to the 1930s, are spread across 43 acres of oceanfront land. Each has been thoughtfully updated to blend modern amenities with the nostalgic simplicity of the plantation era, featuring fully equipped kitchens and private lanais.

Aside from the anniversary promotion, guests can take advantage of the oceanfront pool, a two-mile-long black sand walking beach, and an on-site restaurant offering American and BBQ cuisine. Additional amenities include beachside hammocks, three propane grilling stations, complimentary parking, current movie DVD rentals, and a free guest laundry facility.

Nearby attractions include the majestic Waimea Canyon, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” Koke’e State Park, the stunning Napali coastline, and Kekaha Beach—one of Hawaii’s longest white-sand beaches. For a taste of local culture, Waimea Town and the nearby Hanapepe Town feature eclectic shops and dining options.
