Wildhive Eshott Hall, the second retreat from the Wildhive Collection, is set to open in summer 2026 in the heart of Northumberland. Tucked away near the charming village of Eshott, this luxury escape will bring new life to a historic Georgian manor house, thoughtfully reimagined with nature-inspired design at its core.

Building on the success of Wildhive Callow Hall in Derbyshire, the new property will offer a similarly distinctive stay one that feels deeply connected to its surroundings. Guests can expect an experience shaped by the beauty of the Northumberland countryside, where heritage architecture meets calm, considered design. With a strong focus on sustainability and celebrating local culture, Wildhive Eshott Hall aims to be a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy luxury that feels both meaningful and authentic.

Located in a Historic Manor House

The heart of Wildhive Eshott Hall is the Grade II listed Georgian manor house*, which is set to undergo a full renovation to preserve its historic features while updating the property with modern amenities. The main house will offer 14 beautifully designed rooms, many of which will feature freestanding bathtubs, creating a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere for guests. The renovation plans aim to restore the building’s architectural integrity, honoring its past while adding contemporary touches that reflect the values of Wildhive.

Surrounded by ancient woodlands, rolling lawns, and a walled kitchen garden, the manor sits in a location that provides both tranquility and connection to the local environment. The gardens will not only serve as a peaceful retreat for guests but also supply ingredients for The Garden Room, the property’s seasonal restaurant, where Executive Chef David Bukowicki will create menus featuring fresh, local produce from the estate.

A Blend of Luxury, Nature, and Wellness

The experience at Wildhive Eshott Hall will reflect the Wildhive Collection’s philosophy of connecting guests with nature. The property will feature a collection of 14 one-bedroom and 1 two-bedroom woodman cabins, each equipped with its own private deck, hidden outdoor bath, and a swinging seat for guests to enjoy the natural surroundings. These cabins will offer a peaceful, private retreat for those seeking an immersive nature experience.

The former stables will be converted into six guest rooms, including accessible and dog-friendly options, ensuring that the property caters to all types of guests. In addition, Wildhive Eshott Hall will introduce a new wellness area, The Coach House, which will include a gym, treatment rooms, and four outdoor treatment pods, allowing guests to enjoy restorative experiences in a serene setting.

Design Inspired by Northumberland’s Landscape

The design of Wildhive Eshott Hall draws inspiration from the surrounding Northumberland National Park and moors. Matt Hulme of Dynargh Design is collaborating with Wildhive on this project, bringing a fresh spin to the design of the property while maintaining a visual connection to the distinctive aesthetic of Wildhive Callow Hall. The design will incorporate repurposed antiques and bespoke UK-made furniture that reflect the region’s colors and textures, creating an immersive experience that celebrates the natural beauty of Northumberland.

Artist Melissa White has been commissioned to create a mural in the private dining room, depicting the local landscape and continuing the artistic theme of the Wildhive Collection. The focus on local art and design highlights the strong connection between the property and its surrounding environment.

The Northumberland Location: A Gateway to Explore

Set between Alnwick and Morpeth, Wildhive Eshott Hall offers easy access to some of the region’s most iconic attractions. Guests will be able to explore the beautiful Northumberland Coastal Path, enjoy birdwatching at the Farne Islands, or visit the spectacular Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle, two of England’s most famous castles. The area is also home to an abundance of wildlife, providing ample opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy activities such as hiking, biking, and nature walks.

In recent years, North East England has been gaining recognition as a key destination for tourism, with significant investments being made to enhance the visitor experience. The region was recently named the first Destination Development Partnership pilot in England, receiving £2.25 million in government funding to grow the local visitor economy. The opening of Wildhive Eshott Hall aligns with this growth, creating numerous job opportunities in the area and further boosting the local tourism sector.

A Partnership with Northumberland County Council

The development of Wildhive Eshott Hall has been supported by a partnership with Northumberland County Council, which played a key role in the project. This collaboration not only helped to preserve the heritage of the property but also ensured that the development aligns with the wider objectives of promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing the local economy.

Opening in Summer 2026

Wildhive Eshott Hall is set to open in Summer 2026, offering guests an exceptional experience that combines luxury, nature, and local culture. The property will provide a new benchmark for boutique hotels in the region, further enhancing Northumberland’s reputation as a top destination for luxury travelers seeking authentic, nature-inspired experiences.
