Tourism Cares, a reputed non-profit organization committed to enhancing sustainability within tourism is happy to declare that the Willamette Valley Visitors Association is the recent place to connect Tourism Cares’ Meaningful Travel Program, an all-inclusive educational effort that involves the travel trade in and around sustainable tourism, community engagement and cultural preservation.

For Tourism Cares’ 2024 North America Meaningful Travel Summit, WVVA will act as the host destination as part of this new collaboration. The Summit is scheduled for September 30 – October 2, 2024, in Eugene, Oregon. It will be a featured destination on the recently re-launched Tourism Cares Meaningful Travel Map.

The 2024 North America Meaningful Travel Summit will attract all industry experts, professionals related to tourism, destination managers, and community-led organizations to create relationships, develop resources and partnerships, along with sharing the best practices aimed on giving importance to meaningful travel within tourism.

Attendees will explore the Willamette Valley region, as part of the event, and will also get absorbed with local communities by easy opportunities related to networking, educational sessions, tours, workshops, and volunteer experiences. By constructing direct contacts with the international travel, Willamette Valley businesses, social enterprises and nonprofits, will profit from the long-term financial opportunities that tourism can bring to the region.
