The main organizer of the Asia Islamic Tourism Expo 2023 is the Malaysian Tourism Agencies Association. It has seen two memorandums of understanding that was signed between the President of MATA, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Khalid Harun and the President of the Muslim Association of Hajj, Mr. H Firman M Nur, along with the Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia and the President of MATA, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Khalid Harun. During the AITEX 2023 Minister & CEO Summit, these two memorandums were signed.
This council was set up to strengthen the Islamic tourism industry even further, Hajj and Umrah for the ASEAN Region along with joining hands with 2 countries with a high density of Muslim population. It definitely opens up greater opportunities of business in the tourism industry of Islam in the ASEAN Region.
MATTA is quite sure that with the foundation of the Islamic Tourism Council, greater number of NGOs from countries like Brunei, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia will connect with members of the Council.
Businessmen from Asia and the Middle East who were present during the AITEX Minister & CEO Summit greeted the formation of this Council and it will succeed in making the voice of ASEAN stronger.
