Wizz Air set to resume Russian routes next month

Hungary’s low-cost airline Wizz Air recently announced that it has decided to restart its Russian routes, with flights from Luton to Moscow and St Petersburg commencing from August 15. It has also been informed that flights to the Russian capital will operate twice a week and to St Petersburg once each week.


The decision to restart the routes arrives following the ease of travel restrictions in Russia. This will also allow passengers from the U.K. to experience the fascinating metropolises of Moscow and St Petersburg once again. These cities are full of cultural delights starting from iconic landmarks, beautiful palaces to world’s most famous European art and serve as great tourist destinations.


Owain Jones, Managing Director, Wizz Air U.K., said in a recent statement that the company is excited to reintroduce flights to the cities of Moscow and St Petersburg as Russian travel restrictions are eased. He mentioned that Wizz Air is the sole carrier connecting the U.K. to St Petersburg and the company is proud to provide genuinely unique travel opportunities to U.K. passengers.

He also shared that the mentioned cities are cultural gems steeped in rich history, with so much to discover and offers great tourism opportunities. He said that Wizz customers can feel confident that they are travelling to their destination safely with the industry leading health and hygiene measures. He also mentioned that the airline is looking forward to welcoming back passengers to experience the great service on board its green and modern aircraft.
