The past of the community can shape its present and future once again via cultural heritage tourism. Few officials of a group of area attraction and community were told this on Thursday.

Of a workshop, cultural heritage tourism was the topic that was carried on at City Hall by the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau. It was a session all planned to assist as well as motivate the growth or increase of the use of local attractions.

W. Arthur Mehrhoff, of Columbia was the presenter of the forum. He is an erstwhile city designer and downtown planner who retired of late as academic manager at the University of Missouri for the Museum of Art and Archaeology.

He has got different awards and worked in those responsibilities for Missouri communities via the DREAM initiative of the Governor, the Missouri River Communities Network and the Missouri Humanities Council.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation outlines heritage tourism as exploring the world to see the artifacts of the places, their activities that genuinely stand for the local stories and people of the past and present, as per the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.

As per the council reports, a high percentage of international and local travelers are keen on in exploring cultural or heritage activities.
