Wynn to Reveal Winners of Historic Chinese Wine Contest on Global Stage

Wynn is on the verge of announcing the victors of the world’s inaugural and largest Chinese wine contest held to international standards – the “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards.” This eagerly anticipated awards gala dinner, slated for April, will unveil the champions. In early March, Wynn played host to leading global authorities and judges specializing in both Old and New world wines in Macau. A distinguished panel of 27 internationally acclaimed judges, including seven masters of wine, convened at both Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. Their mission: conducting rigorous blind tastings of China’s premier wines hailing from nearly 200 wineries nationwide. Following this judging week, Wynn is set to stage the “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards Gala Dinner” on April 13, where 23 trophies will be bestowed upon exceptional Chinese wines.

Marked as the world’s foremost Chinese wine competition adjudicated according to global criteria, the inaugural “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” enticed close to 200 esteemed Chinese wineries to participate, submitting over 700 entries. Through this novel platform, Wynn endeavors to elevate Chinese fine wines onto the international arena, amplifying their visibility and acclaim on a global scale. Moreover, Wynn remains steadfast in its mission to bolster Macau’s standing as a UNESCO-designated Creative City of Gastronomy.

The adjudication process for the competition took place in early March at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. The “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” competition instituted a meticulous and professional evaluation framework tailored specifically for Chinese wines. Evaluation involved blind tastings, employing the universally recognized 100-point scale, alongside a comprehensive grading mechanism to determine winners. Initially, judges rated wines for bronze (85-89 points), silver (90-94 points), and gold (95-100 points) medals. Subsequently, gold medalists contended for 23 trophies spanning three key categories: “Wynn Signature Trophies,” “Varietals Champion Trophies,” and “Regional Champion Trophies.” All award recipients will be formally unveiled and honored at the gala dinner for the “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” on April 13.

Following the announcement of winners, Wynn will continue its series of “Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards” events, including Wine Masterclasses, networking sessions, and wine tastings led by renowned wine experts on April 13 and 14. Additionally, Wynn will roll out promotional activities in May, featuring exclusive banquets and gastronomic dining experiences hosted by award-winning wineries and Wynn’s distinguished restaurants. These bespoke Wynn signature wine events are crafted to offer oenophiles and gastronomes an opportunity to relish the finest Chinese wines at Wynn in Macau.
