Last week, Xizang autonomous region in Southwest China organized tourism and culture campaigns at
Junpa fishing village on the fringes of the local capital Lhasa, as part of the wider China Tourism Day
occasion.

Organizers of the event said that the happenings were targeted toward inserting energy into short-distance trips around Lhasa.

Nagwang, a native fisherman, took part in the occasion with his old-style cowhide boat.

Nagwang said that when this local tourism plan was introduced in 2012, the village could only offer old-
style cowhide boating undertakings on the Lhasa River.

Nowadays, they can provide countless tourism choices, for example, camping, bonfire banquets and painting.

The contributing companies also spoke warmly regarding the activities. Pan Huapeng, an official of a
native cultural and tourism business operating kayaking and camping venture in Junpa said that his
company witnessed almost 1,000 people throughout the May Day break. More than half of them took part in the kayaking actions.

Huapeng said that they did not imagine that the scheme would be so well-liked. Now, every weekend,
tourists can experience the kayaking plan. The scheme has also fetched noticeable profits for the local
villagers, promoting the growth of the native economy and facilitated the improvement of traditional cowhide boating undertakings in the area.
