Jordan Expands MENA Tourism Push as Ahlan Jordan Gains Wider Reach Through Wego

Jordan

On 17 August 2026, both the Jordan Tourism Board and Wego turned Ahlan Jordan into a mass regional campaign in the Middle East and North Africa. Now, travelers can book itineraries offering holistic travel experiences to Jordan’s Petra, Wadi Rum, Amman, the Dead Sea, and many other Jordan sites. This initiative aims to enhance Jordan’s visibility in key regional source markets and links destination promotion to bookable multi-day tourism packages through the national inbound travel gateway.

Jordan Strengthens Digital Tourism Access Across MENA

The partnership represents the latest stage in Jordan’s effort to strengthen tourism demand from nearby regional markets. Ahlan Jordan had already been introduced by Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board as the country’s first national digital platform dedicated to inbound tourism. The latest cooperation with Wego gives the platform greater exposure across a large regional online travel audience.

The promotional programme will use digital campaigns, destination-focused content and travel features to introduce more MENA travellers to Jordan’s tourism offering. For the tourism sector, the strategy moves beyond conventional destination advertising. It links travel inspiration with organised products that travellers can consider when planning a visit.

Ahlan Jordan Combines Essential Trip Services

Ahlan Jordan has been developed to simplify the process of organising a holiday in Jordan. The platform offers structured tourism programmes combining several important parts of a journey. These include hotel accommodation, ground transportation, tour guide services and entrance tickets to selected archaeological attractions.

Packages currently range from three to eight days, with official prices starting from US$180 per person. The amount represents an entry-level price, while final costs depend on the selected programme and travel arrangements. This integrated model reduces the need for international visitors to arrange hotels, transfers and sightseeing services separately. It also gives Jordan a stronger packaged product for travellers seeking convenient short and medium-length holidays within the region.

Petra Sits at the Heart of Every Programme

Petra plays a central role in the Ahlan Jordan strategy. Every programme includes accommodation in Petra, making an overnight stay in the ancient destination a core feature rather than an optional addition. The approach is designed to support hotels and tourism businesses around Petra while encouraging travellers to remain in the destination for longer periods.

That can broaden the economic value of each visit. Overnight travellers can generate demand for accommodation, restaurants, transport, guiding services and other local tourism activities. The strategy also reduces the likelihood of Petra functioning only as a short stop within a wider itinerary. By making accommodation part of each programme, Jordan is linking one of its strongest tourism assets directly with local visitor spending.

Wadi Rum, Amman and Dead Sea Broaden Jordan Holidays

Jordan’s tourism strategy is not centred on Petra alone. Wadi Rum, Amman and the Dead Sea are also positioned prominently within the country’s broader visitor offering. Wadi Rum adds desert landscapes and adventure experiences. Amman offers cultural heritage, urban tourism and a major arrival gateway. The Dead Sea strengthens Jordan’s appeal for leisure and wellness travel.

Bringing these destinations together through multi-day itineraries can encourage travellers to explore several parts of the country during one trip. For tourism businesses, wider visitor movement can distribute spending across hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, attractions and local service companies in different destinations. It also supports Jordan’s effort to promote itself as a complete holiday destination rather than a market built around a single globally recognised attraction.

Saudi Arabia, UAE and Gulf Markets Remain Important

The initial phase of Ahlan Jordan has a clear regional focus. Jordanian tourism authorities have identified Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Palestine among the main target markets, alongside Palestinians of the 1948 territories.

These markets offer advantages through geographical proximity and established regional travel links. Shorter flying distances and road access from parts of the region can make Jordan suitable for quick holidays, extended weekends and multi-day cultural journeys. The Wego partnership supports this strategy by placing Jordan’s tourism products in front of travellers already searching digitally for flights, hotels and holiday options across MENA.

Digital Distribution Becomes Central to Jordan Tourism

The expansion of Ahlan Jordan reflects the growing importance of digital distribution in destination management. Tourism boards increasingly need to move travellers from awareness to booking with fewer steps. A destination may attract strong online interest, but converting that interest into confirmed travel requires clear products, accessible information and simple booking pathways.

Ahlan Jordan brings these elements together through organised tourism packages. For Jordan, that creates an opportunity to connect national destination marketing with measurable travel demand. It also offers participating tourism businesses another route to reach visitors seeking organised travel products rather than independently assembled holidays.

Jordan Plans Wider International Expansion

This regional campaign will be a part of a larger future growth campaign. Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities have said that Ahlan Jordan will target other regions in the future, with African source markets noted for the second phase of this campaign.

This method will help Jordan increase demand for travel and broaden their client base. For now, the MENA region is the most important area. With the Wego partnership, this will be more of an important step for Ahlan Jordan’s distribution rather than the launch of their online platform. Jordan is combining a digital promotion campaign for their packages from three to eight days, and Petra accommodation, along with itineraries for Wadi Rum, Amman, and the Dead Sea. This campaign is designed to transform regional travel interest into wider tourism expenditure and increase inbound visitor activity.
