Phuket Creates a New Sustainable Luxury Destination With Massive Layan Verde Resort and Residential Project

VillaCarte Group, a Phuket-based award-winning property developer recognised for its focus on sustainable real estate, has introduced Layan Verde, its most ambitious project on the island so far, during an unveiling event in Singapore. The project’s architectural vision has been created by internationally recognised firm Dewan Architects + Engineers, led by chief architect Mohammed Adib, while award-winning landscape design studio SHMA has developed the surrounding green environment.
Designed as one of Phuket’s most advanced integrated developments, Layan Verde dedicates around 40% of its total site area to infrastructure, landscaping, and community-focused spaces. This approach aims to establish a self-contained luxury destination that combines modern residences, hospitality experiences, sustainable design, and a comprehensive lifestyle ecosystem.

Led by Mohammed Adib, the design team developed the project around the concept of “see but not be seen”, ensuring residents enjoy open views while maintaining a strong sense of privacy.
The architecture follows the natural contours of the land through carefully planned landscaping, terrain-sensitive design and thoughtful positioning of residential spaces. This approach allows the development to blend with its surroundings rather than dominate the landscape, creating a seamless connection between built spaces and nature.
Inside the residences, the design focuses on understated luxury, combining Thai craftsmanship with premium natural materials. Locally sourced marble, onyx, travertine, terrazzo, terracotta, copper and natural wood are incorporated throughout the interiors, creating elegant spaces that are designed to withstand Phuket’s tropical climate while developing character and beauty over time.

More than 16,500 square metres of landscaped areas will feature over 300 varieties of tropical and exotic plants, alongside more than 10 waterfalls, pools, streams and ponds.

Extensive greenery, planted areas and green façades are designed to provide natural shade, reduce heat absorption and improve the overall microclimate within the development.
