Yas Island Abu Dhabi sweeps 34 awards and accolades in 2018

Yas Island Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s premier leisure and entertainment destination, celebrates year of success with 34 local, regional and international awards and accolades under its belt. These awards were received by popular attractions, infrastructure projects and developments.

With world’s best theme parks, first-rate motorsports and golf venues, versatile hospitality offering, Yas Island was recognized with the esteemed World’s Leading Tourism Development Project at the World Travel Awards.

Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Miral, said: “As we continue to transform Yas Island into one of the top global destinations, we are both proud and humbled to be recognised for excellence around the world.

Yas Waterworld, Yas Island’s popular Emirati-themed waterpark was named the Middle East’s Leading Water Park 2018 and later the World’s Leading Waterpark. The world’s fastest rollercoaster, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi was voted the Middle East’s Leading Theme Park for the second year running at the World Travel Awards. The water park and the theme park have won other awards as well.

Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi was voted as the Middle East’s Leading Marina Resort at the World Travel Awards.

Some other attractions in Yas Island Abu Dhabi that have won accolades are Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina, Yas Links, Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi, Radisson Blu Yas Island and Park Inn by Radisson on Yas Island, Yas Connect, Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Mall to name a few.

Yas Island Abu Dhabi aims to welcome 48 million visitors by 2022 and to become a world-class destination for leisure, entertainment and business.

Al Mubarak further added that the long list of recognitions awarded to their attractions during 2018, including our recently opened Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, are a testament to Yas Island’s successful journey this year. It testifies their continuous efforts to evolve, bring new experiences and attractions and welcome more visitors to the island.
