Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, Fiji, renowned as one of Fiji’s premier independently owned and operated resorts, has proudly unveiled the completion of a million-dollar renovation, as announced by Director/Owner James McCann. The extensive six-month renovation project is set to conclude this month. Nestled amidst the tranquility of Fiji’s landscape, with only 18 expansive bungalows and a charming Fijian village as its closest neighbors, this secluded retreat is conveniently located just 30 minutes away from Nadi International Airport via private air transfer. The resort’s recent renovation encompasses enhancements to its public spaces and the rejuvenation of both interior and exterior elements of its villas, marking an exciting milestone in its pursuit of excellence.

“Our Fijian family is delighted to continue to welcome new and return guests in 2024 and
beyond with an exciting new renovation that is both stylish and sustainable, says Interior
Design Consultant Erin McCann.

“We are also pleased to share that the Resort is in the process of obtaining its
EarthCheck certification,” says Erin McCann. According to Erin McCann, EarthCheck’s certifications represent a prestigious recognition awarded to hotels/resorts and tourism enterprises. These certifications signify the brand’s commitment to upholding social corporate responsibility, demonstrating care for their surrounding communities, and improving their ecological sustainability efforts.

In line with the Resort’s original Fijian-inspired design and commitment to sustainability, the renovation shines a spotlight on eco-conscious features. The main complex has been newly refurbished, featuring a fountain crafted from natural stone and indigenous granite accents adorning the entrance driveway and lobby area. Inside, the ambiance is elevated with sleek teak furniture complemented by artisanal hanging lights made from straw and rattan, creating a warm atmosphere in the restaurant and bar. Energy-efficient lighting has been seamlessly integrated throughout the entire resort.

In a nod to local craftsmanship, the accommodations have been enhanced with locally sourced materials. Elegant pergolas in all 18 bungalows and the Lomalagi honeymoon bure are now adorned with cinnamon wood, adding to their charm. Fijian Vesi hardwood, indigenous to the region, has been chosen for the guest room decks, while traditional thatching using island grass has been employed for each accommodation.

Inside the guest rooms, guests will find spacious interiors adorned with stone-like ceramic tiles, stylish teak furniture, and pendant-style lighting fixtures crafted from rattan, completing the blend of modern comfort with traditional Fijian aesthetics.
