Abercrombie & Kent see increase in demand for Egypt

EgyptAbercrombie & Kent has reported an unexpected, amazing rush in demand for Egypt, so powerful that the company has added departures to all of its Egypt programs. The return of the Egyptian travel industry to its best times has been a long time coming.

Perennially one of the top tourist destinations in the world due to its unparalleled antiquities, Egypt has time to time been hit with delays and major setbacks. However, no incident ever staggered its tourism almost as much as the popular revolution of early 2011, better known as the Arab Spring.

The world looked on wide-eyed as students from Egypt and women went out in the streets demanding a more approachable government. They were successful to do well in challenging the powers of Egypt to the degree that the government held its first democratic elections. Like the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was an overwhelming moment, an emblematic event in the history of democracy and self-determination.

In the start, it was a superbly diplomatic revolution, however sooner or later events led to incidents of violence. The violence that took place remained on the level of internal quarrels between political factions in Egypt. And, though there were few aggressive incidents at resorts on the Sinai Peninsula, a popular tourist destination for Europeans, none of the groups targeted the tourist sites in Cairo and along the Nile that Americans visit in Egypt.
