Odisha Government to focus on creating new tourism destinations

Mayfair Hotels & Resorts Exectuive Director Souvagya Mohapatra urged Odisha Government to focus on creating new tourism destinations, and to promote Chilika as a world tourism destination. He said this while addressing the 3rd edition of ODISHA TRAVEL BAZAR.

This is the 3rd consecutive year that the Tourism Department, Govt. of Odisha in association with FICCI is organizing Odisha Travel Bazar. With the excellent response received during last two Travel Bazars, it is expected that this Travel Bazar would also be successful.

The Govt. of Odisha under the leadership of its Hon’ble Chief Minister has created a very favorable investment friendly atmosphere which is providing that much needed boost to the Tourism & Hospitality Industry. Recent approvals by the Govt. for land allotment for Tourism projects, Hotel Projects & Convention Center will put Odisha at par with other States of India.

In last couple of months, the Tourism Department along with FICCI has conducted seven Road Shows highlighting the Tourism potential & product of Odisha at major Indian cities. These road shows are great ways to promote Odisha and also to attract tourists post cyclone Fani. The Hon’ble CM & Govt. of Odisha has done a tremendous job done for recovering the cyclone affected areas.

Now Odisha is looking forward to conduct road shows at countries closer to Odisha like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka etc.
