St. Kitts & Nevis to reopen borders for international tourism in October

St. Kitts & Nevis will be reopening its borders for international tourism in October, said Prime Minister Timothy Harris. This would assist in the resumption of air and sea commercial traffic carrying international passengers into the Federation’s ports.

• All travelers arriving in St. Kitts and Nevis should follow all health protocols upon arrival:
• Present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival
• Quarantine for 14 days
• Take a second PCR test after 14 days is completed

Be released from quarantine upon a negative test result after 14 days

Travelers need to have valid travel insurance covering Covid-19 for the duration of their trip. The Prime Minister said that the Federation’s major hotels are committed partners to the tourism sector.

For reopening, St. Kitts is conducting training for more than 5,000 tourism businesses including hotels.

This training will instruct tourism businesses about health and safety protocols and standards that must be met for obtaining the “Travel Approved” certification from the Tourism Authority.

In order to operate, businesses must have the ‘Travel Approved’ certification.

All individuals should wear masks in public and those refusing to wear masks will face a $185 fine according to Travel Pulse. Among local rules are social distancing and hand washing.
