Russian and Ukrainian tourists 2nd largest visitor groups in Bali

In Bali, Russians have turned out to be the second biggest group of visitors after the Australians. However, now the Indonesian island is considering cracking down on arrivals.


Officials in Bali along with its residents have expressed their grievance with the misbehaviorof Russian tourists.


WayanKoster, the Governor ofBali revealed that he isrequesting the central government to prohibit Russian and Ukrainian tourists from being permitted to obtain a visa on arrival in Indonesia.


Bali is also thinking about stopping all tourists from abroad to ride motorbikes and launching an official campaign for cracking down on how tourists conduct themselvesand how they dress.


Mr.Koster said that Russians and Ukrainians were visiting Bali to evade the conflict there, and not just visiting for relaxation but to find employment. He opined that the two nationalities comprised the highest number of violations considering foreigners, stated the local media.


NiluhDjelantik, who is the creatorof a luxury show brand in Bali, said that they have opened their doors, and have opened their arms, and have welcomed the foreigners with a big smile. However, theirkind-heartedness has been taken for granted.


Mr.Kostersaid that there are several visa violations, such as tourists taking up jobs, financial delinquencies andstaying more than expected, when he spoke of Ukrainian and Russian tourists.
