WestJet Grows Phoenix Winter Schedule With More Canadian Flights and Better Connections

WestJet has increased its flight schedule from Phoenix this winter, and is now offering more flights to Canada from Phoenix and other Arizona airports. WestJet expects even more cross border travel this winter. WestJet will have a total of 61 weekly flights to and from Phoenix this winter, 17 more than last year.

The expanded schedule will add 285 additional flights throughout the winter period, marking a 25% rise compared with the previous season. The growth strengthens Phoenix’s connectivity with major Canadian cities and provides more travel options for passengers seeking winter escapes, business connections and seasonal travel opportunities.

WestJet’s expanded Phoenix network will connect travellers with seven Canadian destinations, including Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Regina, Saskatoon, Vancouver and Winnipeg. These routes will support increased movement between Arizona and Canada during the busy winter travel period, when many visitors travel south for warmer weather.

Alongside WestJet’s growth, Southwest Airlines is also increasing connectivity from Phoenix Sky Harbor by restarting nonstop service to Birmingham, Alabama. The route is scheduled to return in November, adding another domestic travel option for passengers travelling between Arizona and the southeastern United States.

With the addition of new seasonal services, Phoenix Sky Harbor continues to strengthen its role as a major aviation gateway, offering access to more than 130 cities across the United States and 24 international destinations.

The airport’s expanding route network is expected to provide travellers with greater flexibility while supporting tourism, business travel and regional economic activity throughout the winter season.
