India Railways Suspends 20 Train Services In Bhopal Division During Major Bina And Agasod Infrastructure Upgrade

The Bhopal Railway Division has announced the cancellation of 20 train services from October 1-16. The Division is carrying out major upgrades on railway yard limits at Bina and Agasod Stations. The third railway line project is being taken up to augment capacity of the rail infrastructure and for smooth and faster movement of trains in Central India.
Railway passengers travelling through the Bhopal Division will experience temporary changes in train operations as 20 passenger services remain cancelled between September 20 and October 16 due to extensive yard remodelling activities at Bina and Agasod railway stations. The infrastructure work is being carried out to integrate the third railway line between Bina and Agasod, aiming to improve railway capacity, enhance operational flexibility and support smoother movement of trains across the corridor.
The redevelopment work at the two railway yards includes pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking activities being executed in phases from September 1 to October 15. These technical operations are required to modify railway tracks, signalling arrangements and yard facilities before the upgraded system becomes fully operational.

Bina and Agasod are important railway points that support the movement of passenger and freight trains in central India. With increasing traffic pressure on railway routes, the remodelling project is designed to improve train handling capabilities and create better arrangements for arrivals, departures and movement management.
Following the temporary operational restrictions, several train services have been cancelled for specific periods.
The Lalitpur-Bina and Bina-Lalitpur MEMU services will remain suspended from September 20 until October 15. These cancellations will affect daily passengers who rely on these local train connections for regional travel.
The Bina-Katni Mudwara and Katni Mudwara-Bina MEMU services will also remain cancelled on September 21 and again from September 28 to October 15 due to the ongoing yard work.

Passengers travelling on long-distance routes will also face changes, as the Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Shridham Express services will not operate from September 26 to October 15.
Additional disruptions include the cancellation of Bina-Ruthiyai and Ruthiyai-Bina MEMU services between September 30 and October 16. The Bhopal-Gwalior Intercity services will also remain unavailable from October 1 to October 15.
Other important trains affected during the construction period include the Gwalior-SMVT Bengaluru Express, Rajya Rani Express, Humsafar Express and Mahamana Express, which will face cancellations on selected dates.
The railway upgrade project is expected to deliver long-term improvements by increasing yard efficiency and allowing better coordination of train movements. Modernised railway yards help reduce operational limitations by providing improved track arrangements and greater flexibility in managing busy routes.
The third railway line connection between Bina and Agasod is also aimed at strengthening the capacity of the corridor, allowing the railway network to manage future growth in passenger and freight traffic more effectively.
Passengers planning journeys through Bina during the affected period are advised to confirm the latest train updates before travelling. Checking service status, revised schedules, route changes, stoppages and boarding locations will help travellers avoid difficulties caused by temporary cancellations.
