The province welcomed over seventeen million visitors during the eight-month period, representing a 6 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025.

The growth reflects increasing demand for Quang Ninh’s diverse tourism offerings, including coastal attractions, cultural experiences, heritage sites and cruise journeys. The destination continues to attract both domestic and international travellers through expanded tourism products and stronger promotional campaigns.

A key indicator of tourism recovery and expansion has been the rise in overnight visitors. Nearly 6.6 million travellers stayed overnight in Quang Ninh during the period, marking a 10 per cent year-on-year increase.

The increase in longer stays has supported wider tourism development by improving demand for hotels, restaurants, transportation services and local tourism activities. Higher overnight arrivals also demonstrate the destination’s growing ability to encourage visitors to spend more time exploring the region.

Tourism Revenue Climbs As Visitor Spending Strengthens Across The Destination

Alongside visitor growth, Quang Ninh achieved a major increase in tourism revenue during the first eight months of 2026. Total tourism income exceeded VND 51 trillion, equivalent to around USD 1.96 billion.

The figure represents a 23 per cent rise compared with the same period in 2025, highlighting stronger visitor spending and improved performance across the tourism sector.

The increase in revenue has been supported by multiple factors, including higher overnight stays, expanded tourism experiences and increased international arrivals. The destination has continued to develop new attractions and services designed to encourage longer visits and increase economic benefits from tourism.

Quang Ninh experienced one of its strongest tourism periods during Vietnam’s five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2, 2026.

Overnight tourism also recorded significant growth during the holiday. Around 227,500 visitors stayed overnight, rising 70 per cent year on year. Tourism revenue reached an estimated VND 1.8 trillion, or about USD 69.2 million, increasing 84 per cent compared with the same holiday period a year earlier.

The strong holiday performance highlighted the growing popularity of Quang Ninh among travellers seeking coastal escapes, cultural attractions and leisure experiences. The surge also demonstrated the effectiveness of tourism promotion activities and improved visitor services across the destination.

Cruise Tourism Expansion Brings More International Travellers To Quang Ninh

International cruise tourism has become an important part of Quang Ninh’s tourism growth story in 2026.

During the first eight months of the year, the destination welcomed additional international cruise visitors, strengthening its role as a major gateway for overseas travellers.
