Bend Oregon Uncorks a Vibrant Oktoberfest Filled with Races Music and Big Smiles

Bend, Oregon, is set to welcome autumn with food, music, friendly competition and a lively dog show as Bend Oktoberfest returns on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The free community event will run from 2pm to 9pm on the lawn of the Deschutes Historical Museum in downtown Bend. It will give residents and visitors a bright and cheerful way to enjoy the early fall season in Central Oregon.

A Free Autumn Festival in Downtown Bend

The show will begin with Wiener Dog Races at 2pm. The Running of the Bulldogs will follow at 2.30pm. Corgi Crush will start at 3pm. The Mutt Strut Dog Show will close the animal programme at 3.30pm. Day-of registration for the dog events will open at 1.30pm.
The races are open to purebred Dachshunds, Bulldogs and Corgis. The Mutt Strut welcomes all breeds and mixed-breed dogs. Every participating dog must have proof of rabies vaccination. These rules help keep the event safe and well organised.
Bark Bash also carries a community purpose. Registration costs $20, and the proceeds will support rescue and wellness programmes run by the Humane Society of Central Oregon. This gives visitors a fun way to help animals while enjoying the festival.

Games Bring Laughter and Friendly Competition

The second half of the day will focus on classic Oktoberfest-style games. From 5pm to 7pm, visitors can take part in contests that are simple, playful and made for a cheering crowd.
The programme includes a pretzel toss, stein holding contest, beer relay race, beer slide and barrel rolling race. There will also be a costume contest and a yodelling competition. These activities add a light and silly side to the festival. They invite people to dress up, join in and enjoy the moment.
