Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is highlighting its entertainment lineup for the anticipated debut of Norwegian Aura in May 2027. NCL is known for providing flexible travel options as well as quality service. As it leads the way with original programming at sea, Norwegian Aura will provide even more entertainment with its debut. Leading the way is the show “Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston.” There will be an array of new programming for all to enjoy.
Created in collaboration with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music, the exclusive NCL production will honour one of the most influential and successful music icons in history. Celebrating a career that includes more than 220 million records sold globally, seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles, and six Grammy Awards, the show will bring Houston’s legendary music and unforgettable performances to life through a modern concert-style experience designed exclusively for Norwegian Aura guests.
Beyond the headline production, Norwegian Aura’s entertainment schedule will feature a collection of new and returning experiences designed to offer guests entertainment throughout the day and night. The ship will debut “ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed™,” an original spectacle combining illusion, acrobatics and cutting-edge visual effects to create a dynamic theatrical experience.
Guests will also enjoy “The Vinyl Republic™,” NCL’s newest live music concept, which expands entertainment beyond the traditional theatre setting with engaging performances across the ship. “Every new ship is an opportunity for Norwegian Cruise Line to push the boundaries of what entertainment at sea can be, and with ‘Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston,’ we’re building on the incredible momentum we’ve seen from our Vegas residency-inspired productions celebrating some of music’s most iconic artists,” said Bryan White, vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “Following the success of our Prince and Elton John productions on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, respectively, this new show reimagines Whitney’s legendary catalog through contemporary arrangements, dynamic storytelling, stunning visuals and powerful live performances. Together with original experiences like ‘ILLUMINOX’ and ‘The Vinyl Republic,’ we’ve created a collection of entertainment that transforms every venue into a destination and every evening into something unforgettable.”
Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston – A New Original Production Honoring One of Music’s Most Iconic Voices
Developed in partnership with The Estate of Whitney E. Guests will enjoy iconic hits including “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” the nine-times RIAA certified platinum dance-pop anthem, also named Best Pop Song of All Time by Billboard magazine in 2023.
