600,00 tourists visit the Valley in the last four months

The tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir said that 600,00 tourists have visited the Valley in the last four months, which is the highest number in the last ten years.


Hotels and houseboats are fully booked and tourists are lining up for shikara rides on the famous Dal Lake. Kashmir Valley is indeed seeing record-breaking tourist visitation in the past one decade.


With theAmarnathYatra (pilgrimage) starting in June, the J&K government expects the numbers to go up even more.
G N Itoo, the Director of J&K Tourism Department said that the winter season from January to March proved to be positive, and April figures are also promising. More than 600,000 tourists have visited J&K in the first four months of this year, giving rise to a great tourism season and year for Kashmir!Pilgrimage is also happening in the Valleyand this drive tourism even more. The tourism department said that they would be welcoming tourists for yatraalong with other destinations. The J&K tourism industry is indeed on a roll, after suffering hugely due to the pandemic. Considering the holidays across India, more tourist arrivals are expected. New and lesser known tourist spots would also be explored.


The tourism industry in the Kashmir Valley witnessedgreatlosses in the last three years, after the cancellation of Article 370 and the COVID-19 pandemic. The Valley literally went out of business.
