The third edition of Macao Week in 2023 took place in Fujian•Xiamen from October 26, utilizing a mix of event features like a mega roadshow, presentation seminar, and gastronomic promotion, along with diverse online channels to promote the destination. Spanning five days, the “Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen” roadshow attracted an impressive 598,800 attendees in person and engaged a cumulative online audience of over 18.43 million viewers. Additionally, the event generated significant online buzz, with the hashtag #Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen# on Weibo amassing over 140 million page views.


Macao’s ‘Tourism +’ Attracts Visitors with Over 50 Special Booths
The Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen 2023 showcased Macao’s vibrant tourism, trade, culture, and more through 58 themed zones and booths. Highlights included Macao’s gastronomy, festivals, and events, the Macao Grand Prix Museum, unique cultural displays, sports events, and tourism products. Participants enjoyed a special dice game called “MAK MAK mooncake,” integrating Fujian and Macao’s cultural elements.


Diverse and wonderful performances add lively vibes
During the roadshow, Seashine Department Store’s façade was lit up with Macao-themed mapping shows, and the event featured three golden dragon parades, 95 stage performances including street dance by MAK MAK, dragon and lion dances, Portuguese Folk Dance, and Tuna Macaense’s music blending Chinese and Portuguese influences.


Wide-Scale Distribution of Travel Information and Exclusive Offers
The Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen was widely promoted through online channels, including the “Macao Week” H5 page, MGTO’s official accounts on platforms like WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin, as well as Weibo, Ctrip.com, Meituan, and Lvmama. Key opinion leaders (KOLs) in travel, fashion, and gastronomy conducted 11 live streams, generating over 18.43 million live views.


Fujian and Macao Collaborate to Explore Trade and Tourism Opportunities
During Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen, MGTO led a Macao travel delegation to Xiamen, hosting a seminar highlighting Macao’s tourism strengths and upcoming events like the 70th Macau Grand Prix and Light up Macao 2023.


Culinary encounter between Xiamen and Macao
MGTO, Galaxy MacauTM Integrated Resort, and Andaz Xiamen organized “Macao Week in Fujian•Xiamen —Explore Taste of Macao,” supported by Dehua County of Quanzhou, Fujian, and Macau Beer. Andaz Xiamen featured a Macanese menu and Grandma Rosa’s Portuguese Tarts flash shop, showcasing Macao’s gastronomy as a UNESCO Creative City.
