Roastery Coffee House Brings Speciality Indian Coffee Experience to Bengaluru With New Banashankari House
Roastery Coffee House has expanded its presence with the launch of its 17th House and its first outlet in Bengaluru, located in Banashankari II Stage. The opening represents a significant milestone for the coffee brand, connecting its growth story with the region that has played a central role in its coffee journey.
Founded in Hyderabad in 2017, Roastery has built a strong connection with Karnataka’s coffee-growing heritage. Today, almost 99% of the coffee served across its outlets is sourced from the Chikmagalur region of Karnataka, making the Bengaluru launch a symbolic return to the origin of its beans.
For years, coffee from Chikmagalur’s estates has travelled to Roastery’s facilities before reaching Coffee Houses across India. With the opening of its first Bengaluru House, the brand has completed this journey, bringing its coffee closer to the land where much of it begins. The new outlet represents what Roastery describes as a homecoming — “Roastery’s Coffee Comes Home.”
For Nishant Sinha, Founder & CEO, Roastery Coffee House, the opening therefore represents much
more than entering another city. “Roastery was born in Hyderabad, but the coffee that built
Roastery was born in Karnataka. For years, coffee from Chikmagalur has travelled to our roastery
and then to our Coffee Houses across India. Now, for the first time, we are serving that coffee
through a Roastery Coffee House in Karnataka itself. So Bengaluru doesn’t feel like entering another
market for us. It feels like our coffee coming home.”
From Chikmagalur’s Coffee Estates to Bengaluru’s Urban Landscape
Karnataka has remained central to Roastery’s coffee journey since the beginning of its operations. The brand’s connection with the state’s coffee-growing regions has continued to grow, with the company now sourcing nearly 100 tonnes of green coffee every year. Around 99% of this supply comes from the Chikmagalur region, one of India’s most recognised coffee-producing areas.
Roastery maintains direct relationships with more than 15 coffee estates and farmers across the region, focusing entirely on over 80 speciality-grade coffees. Its selection includes unique experimental processing methods and carefully produced micro-lots that highlight the diversity and character of Indian coffee.
For Roastery, coffee sourcing is not limited to purchasing beans. The brand aims to bring attention to the people, farms, regions and production methods behind every cup. Its approach focuses on celebrating Indian coffee closer to where it is grown while recognising the efforts of farmers and estates that shape the final experience.
The launch of the Bengaluru House represents a meaningful step in this journey, bringing Roastery closer to the landscapes and communities that have played a major role in developing its coffee identity.
A Modern Coffee House Inspired by Indian Design
Covering around 4,000 square feet and offering seating for nearly 80 guests, the Bengaluru House reflects Roastery’s vision of creating contemporary coffee spaces that carry a strong Indian character.
The design does not replicate any single historical monument or traditional architectural style. Instead, the space draws gentle inspiration from Indian arches and classic design elements, reinterpreting them through a modern speciality coffee environment.
The interiors continue Roastery’s evolving design language, featuring soft pastel shades combined with Kalamkari-inspired artwork and upholstery. These traditional craft influences add warmth and cultural depth while blending naturally with the contemporary setting.
Rather than recreating heritage architecture, the Bengaluru House combines familiar Indian colours, patterns, textiles and artistic elements with a modern café atmosphere. The concept reflects Roastery’s belief that an Indian coffee brand can express its identity not only through the flavours it creates but also through the spaces where customers experience them.
Coffee Remains the Centre of the Bengaluru Experience
The new Bengaluru House continues Roastery’s established coffee programme, offering its popular creations alongside speciality brewing experiences. Guests can enjoy signature beverages such as Cranberry Coffee, Brownie Blend Cold Coffee and expertly prepared cappuccinos.
The House also features a manual brewing selection that allows visitors to explore different speciality Indian coffees, including various beans, origins and flavour profiles. This focus gives customers a deeper understanding of the journey behind each cup.
Alongside its coffee offerings, the Bengaluru House presents an all-day food menu featuring café favourites such as sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, pastas and other carefully prepared dishes.
While the food menu adds variety to the overall experience, coffee remains the foundation of the House. The space continues Roastery’s approach of creating places where customers can discover Indian speciality coffee in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Bengaluru Marks a New Chapter for Roastery’s Expansion
Roastery views the Bengaluru opening as more than a single café launch. The company does not position its Houses as traditional flagship outlets, but instead focuses on creating individual spaces that develop their own connection with local communities and neighbourhoods.
The brand plans to strengthen its presence across Bengaluru over the coming years, exploring the possibility of opening around five to seven Coffee Houses across the city within the next one to two years. These plans will depend on identifying suitable locations and spaces that match Roastery’s vision.
For the company, Bengaluru represents a significant milestone because it connects two important parts of its identity: premium Indian coffee and thoughtfully designed spaces inspired by Indian culture.
Founded in Hyderabad, Roastery has now established a physical presence in the state where most of its coffee begins its journey. The Bengaluru House brings the brand closer to Karnataka’s coffee heritage while opening a new chapter in its growth story.
