In October and November 2026, Uganda National Airlines will begin service between Uganda and Accra, Ghana and Kigali, Rwanda. Following the ramp up in scheduled flights around the African continent to and from Entebbe International Airport, the ease of doing business and traveling for both leisure and for air cargo will be greatly enhanced. Entebbe International Airport will be on its way to becoming a fully fledged international hub. Now, this national airline is all set to connect passengers through direct flights to twenty four African Nations and on October 27, 2026, there will be four flights per week from Entebbe to Accra. The daily flights to Kigali will begin on November 18, 2026. At present, Entebbe will operate flights to only nineteen destinations.

The initiation of service by Uganda Airlines to Accra and Kigali will create the first direct service from East Africa to West Africa via Entebbe. In addition, the Uganda National Airlines will provide direct service to the remaining East African countries. This will make Entebbe the key airport in Africa from which all passengers will be able to access any destination in Africa.

Flights on the route will be operated using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft through a wet-lease arrangement with Ethiopian Airlines.
