Frankfurt Airport will activate its summer schedule on March 31, coinciding with Germany’s transition to daylight saving time. This season, 83 airlines will offer flights to 283 destinations across 90 countries, maintaining Frankfurt Airport’s status as Germany’s premier international aviation gateway, especially for intercontinental travel. The summer schedule will remain in effect until October 27.

The updated schedule features new European routes, including inaugural non-stop flights from Frankfurt to Harstad/Narvik Airport (EVE) in Norway, gateway to the Lofoten Islands, by Discover Airlines twice weekly starting May 16. Additionally, SunExpress will add a weekly flight to Malatya (MLX) in Eastern Anatolia beginning June 2, and Sky Express will continue its Athens (ATH) service initiated over the winter.

North American connections will be enhanced, with Lufthansa introducing five weekly flights to Minneapolis (MSP) from June 4 and a new service to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) in North Carolina, starting June 6. Condor is increasing its North American flights, including three weekly flights to San Antonio (SAT) from May 17—making Frankfurt the only European airport with a direct service to SAT—and adding Miami (MIA) to its schedule from March 23.

In Asia, Condor is introducing flights to Bangkok (BKK) and Phuket (HKT), while Lufthansa will maintain its Hyderabad (HYD), India route initiated in the winter.

The 2024 summer schedule reflects a 6% increase in flight numbers from last year, with an average of 4,380 passenger flights weekly. Although this is 13% below the pre-crisis summer of 2019, the schedule includes 3,285 weekly flights to 160 European destinations and 1,106 weekly flights to 122 destinations on other continents, nearing 2019’s intercontinental flight levels. Weekly outbound seat capacity from Frankfurt is around 807,000 seats, a 5% increase from the previous year, with a 3% increase for European flights. These changes are compared with the summer schedules of 2019 and 2023.

Starting April 10, Discover Airlines will move its check-in operations from Concourse A to Concourse B in Terminal 1.
