Abu Dhabi Airports and Burjeel Holdings have entered into a strategic partnership, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to elevate the healthcare services provided to travelers at Zayed International Airport. This collaboration integrates Burjeel Holdings’ renowned healthcare proficiency with the advanced amenities of the newly inaugurated terminal, aiming to redefine the passenger experience through superior healthcare solutions.

As part of this initiative, a clinic will be established within Zayed International Airport, managed under the umbrella of Burjeel Medical City (BMC) — the premier establishment of Burjeel Holdings. The clinic is set to provide round-the-clock, top-tier medical attention to passengers, ensuring they can receive immediate care without the need to exit the airport premises. This service is designed to enhance passenger safety, reduce the inconvenience associated with medical emergencies, and provide complimentary care to stabilize conditions prior to any necessary hospital transfers. Connected to the extensive resources and professional expertise of BMC for cases requiring further medical intervention, the clinic will also extend its benefits to the employees of Abu Dhabi Airports and their relatives.

Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports said: “We are pleased to partner with Burjeel Holdings and BMC to enhance healthcare services at Zayed International Airport. This partnership further showcases our commitment at Abu Dhabi Airports to prioritise passengers’ well-being and provide a world-leading airport experience. We are excited by the opportunities to advance healthcare options at our airport and will continue to innovate across the aviation ecosystem to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s global standing as a tourism and aviation hub.”

The collaboration is designed to provide a broad spectrum of medical services. Additionally, as a component of this partnership, employees at Abu Dhabi Airports will have access to top-tier healthcare services at Burjeel Hospitals, available in multiple locations across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder & Chairman at Burjeel Holdings said: “We are proud to collaborate with Abu Dhabi Airports Company to offer unparalleled healthcare services within one of the world’s most dynamic airport environments. Through our state-of-the-art facility, backed by an integrated network, we aim to enhance the travel experience and also nurture a healthier, safer airport community. This initiative is a significant milestone in our ongoing journey to set new standards in healthcare excellence, reflecting our vision to extend our reach and impact beyond traditional healthcare settings. As we prepare to open the doors of our clinic at Zayed International Airport, we look forward to becoming an integral part of every passenger’s journey, ensuring their health and safety are in the best hands possible.”

Elena Sorlini and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil formalized their agreement through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing. The event saw the presence of key figures including John Sunil, the CEO of Burjeel Holdings, Safeer Ahamed, the Group Chief Operating Officer, Omran Al Khoori, a Board Member, Hamad Al Hosani, the Chief Corporate Officer, and Aysha Al Mahri, the Deputy CEO of BMC.

Zayed International Airport stands as one of the globe’s most expansive airport terminals. It has the capability to host up to 45 million visitors annually. The airport is equipped with cutting-edge biometric and screening technologies, ensuring a smooth and efficient journey for passengers from their arrival to their final destination.
