Accor, the leading international hospitality group in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, has unveiled a significant agreement with Worldwide Hotels Group, Singapore’s largest hotel operator in terms of room capacity and a longstanding partner of Accor. Together, they are set to introduce the world’s largest Mercure hotel, boasting a total of 989 rooms, to Singapore. Anticipated to open its doors in the first quarter of 2024, Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre marks a milestone in this collaboration.

This agreement further cements the robust alliance between Accor and Worldwide Hotels Group, following their recent pact for Novotel Singapore on Kitchener. Carolyn Choo, CEO of Worldwide Hotels Group, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to broaden our collaboration with Accor, a formidable partner. Through Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre, we aim to consistently craft exceptional experiences for the discerning, cosmopolitan traveler.”

Nestled at 8 Club Street, Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre enjoys a strategic location between the historical allure of Chinatown and the dynamic pulse of the Central Business District (CBD). Guests will relish the bustling culinary and entertainment scene in one of Singapore’s trendiest neighborhoods, delve into heritage temples and charming shophouses, and savor authentic local cuisines at nearby eateries and hawker centers. With direct connectivity to Chinatown and Telok Ayer stations on two key transit lines, the hotel ensures convenient access to the CBD, renowned shopping areas, and local attractions.

Upon arrival, guests at Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre will be welcomed by a dynamically designed lobby featuring a captivating video wall. The All-Day Dining Restaurant offers an inviting space for socializing and indulging in memorable dining experiences. The Lounge & Bar concept provides a seamless fusion for gatherings, relaxation, and recharging, equipped with lounge seating and tables outfitted with power sockets for work convenience. To rejuvenate, guests can enjoy the landscaped pool deck and indoor gym facilities. Additionally, the hotel will feature EV charging stations.

Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer for Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy Division in Asia, expressed gratitude, saying, “It’s a privilege to continue our collaboration with Worldwide Hotels Group by introducing Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre. Mercure hotels serve as gateways to exploration, evoking a sense of local discovery from the moment guests step in. Embracing local inspiration lies at the core of the Mercure experience, where each hotel embodies a distinctive charm reflecting its neighborhood. Situated in one of Singapore’s most vibrant locales and offering a wealth of outstanding experiences, the hotel underscores our shared dedication to delivering genuine hospitality experiences.
