Aequs wins Top Ecosystem Accelerator at Wings India 2024, recognized by India’s Civil Aviation Ministry & FICCI, shares honor with Airbus.
Aequs, a prominent name in the Indian aviation industry, recently celebrated a significant achievement as it was recognized as the Top Ecosystem Accelerator at Wings India 2024. This prestigious event, held biennially, is renowned as the largest civil aviation exhibition in Asia. The award was presented by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The honor was bestowed upon Aravind Melligeri, the Chairman and CEO of Aequs, by the Honorable Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of General VK Singh, the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, along with top officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Aequs was particularly honored to share this recognition with Airbus, its esteemed client and the leading aircraft manufacturer in the world. This accolade is a testament to Aequs’s commitment to fostering an environment of cooperation and excellence within the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster (BAC), where it operates. Melligeri expressed gratitude to their customers, partners, suppliers, and everyone involved in the BAC ecosystem, attributing their success to a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality standards in customer service.
Airbus, in 2016, had already acknowledged Aequs’s innovative approach to aerospace manufacturing by awarding them the Airbus Innovation Award, an achievement that Aequs values highly to this day.
“We are indeed honored to be jointly named for the award with Airbus, which sets the bar for performance and quality,” Aravind Melligeri said holding the recognition a milestone in Aequs’ journey towards manufacturing excellence and developing Ecosystems of Efficiency®.
Established in 2009, the BAC is India’s first Notified Precision Engineering Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and boasts a unique aerospace ecosystem with over thirty manufacturing units. Spanning more than 250 acres, the BAC provides a comprehensive manufacturing value chain, all within a single campus. This setup allows for seamless collaboration among various units.
Aequs’s ability to offer top-tier services to global aerospace OEMs, including Airbus, Boeing, Collins, and Safran, is significantly enhanced by this integrated environment. Moreover, the BAC’s approach to manufacturing, where most intermediate processes occur within the same campus, results in aerospace components with a reduced carbon footprint, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.
