Today, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) made an announcement regarding the appointment of Jessica Brady as the vice president of federal affairs for tax policy.

Brady comes to AHLA from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), where she served as the senior director of federal government relations, focusing on tax, trade, and other related matters. Prior to her role at DISCUS, Brady held positions such as associate director of global development policy and advocacy at Save the Children, where she led budget and appropriations advocacy, and she also contributed to congressional affairs and multilateral diplomacy at the State Department under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief program.

Brady is now part of AHLA’s expanding team, which has been playing a crucial role in representing the interests of the hotel industry. Since 2021, both the AHLA and AHLA Foundation teams have experienced significant growth, nearly doubling in size and reaching a combined total of 85 employees. AHLA remains dedicated to being the authoritative voice for America’s hotels and actively participates in policy matters impacting hoteliers at various levels of government.

AHLA President & CEO Chip Rogers expressed confidence in Jessica Brady’s extensive tax expertise and thorough comprehension of the federal policymaking process, emphasizing that her skills will be instrumental in addressing crucial tax issues in 2024 and beyond. Rogers affirmed that this hiring decision aligns with AHLA’s commitment to achieving policy successes for the benefit of hoteliers.
