Air Canada is set to revolutionize travel between Canada and Singapore by introducing the first direct flight route from Vancouver to Singapore this week. The inauguration of this service was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event at Vancouver International Airport on Tuesday, April 2, signifying the start of operations to Singapore’s Changi International Airport.
This direct route stands out as the sole non-stop flight service connecting Canada with Singapore, offering flights four times a week. Departures from Vancouver are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, while flights from Singapore will take off on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. This scheduling strategically facilitates seamless connections for travelers flying from Vancouver across North America and from Singapore to various crucial destinations across Southeast Asia, South India, and Western Australia, thanks to Air Canada’s collaboration with Star Alliance and its codeshare partnership with Singapore Airlines.
Operated with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the service promises an exceptional flying experience across three different cabin classes: Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. Changi International Airport, known for its outstanding efficiency in customs processing, has been consistently acclaimed as the world’s best airport, further enhancing the appeal of this new direct flight for global travelers.
The pricing for this pioneering non-stop service is notably competitive, starting at under $1,500, positioning it as one of the most economical options for travel between Vancouver and Singapore. While the cheapest tickets usually begin at over $1,300, with a few options around $1,200 in October, Air Canada’s non-stop flights eliminate the inconvenience of stopovers common in other budget-friendly choices within the same price range. The airline’s most affordable fares appear in September, though cost-effective options are available throughout the year. For instance, a round-trip departing on September 11 and returning on September 24 is priced at $1,467, offering a significant saving of $664 compared to typical rates.
