Amidst the welcoming ambiance of CUR airport, Air Century inaugurated its direct route between Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Curaçao. The flight schedule commences with thrice-weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, using a Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft accommodating 50 passengers. As the inaugural flight landed, it received the customary water salute.
During the ceremony, speeches were given by Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje, Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Carlos Jimenez, Executive Vice President of Air Century, and Mr. Jonny Andersen, CEO of CAP, to mark the arrival of the flight. Moreover, Minister Cijntje and Mr. Muryad de Bruin from CTB, along with representatives from CAP and CAH, presented Air Century with a special plaque showcasing downtown Otrobanda and the iconic Queen Emma bridge, affectionately known as the ‘Swinging Old Lady’.
Curaçao maintains an existing partnership with Air Century, which previously operated direct flights from Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The airline has now extended its routes to include direct flights from Punta Cana to Curaçao. This new link by Air Century unveils exciting opportunities for tourists from Punta Cana to explore Curaçao’s diverse offerings. These encompass a wide array of accommodations, diverse tourist attractions, breathtaking beaches, a rich historical tapestry, vibrant events, water sports, delicious local cuisine, and, notably, the warm hospitality of the locals. Moreover, this new direct flight option provides increased travel flexibility for the local population.
The Government of Curaçao, Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH), and the Curaçao Hospitality & Tourism Association (CHATA) collectively extend their congratulations to Air Century for inaugurating its new route, Punta Cana – Curaçao!
