Today, Air India, a prominent global airline based in India, has introduced several enhancements to elevate the global passengers experience across all cabin classes on its international long-haul flights. These enhancements include new amenity kits, a sustainable bedding refresh, and updated chinaware, cutlery, and glassware. The rollout of these upgrades will commence in mid-2024 with the introduction of the A350-900 for international commercial operations.
For First and Business class passengers, Air India has collaborated with the renowned Italian luxury fashion house, Ferragamo, to design exclusive amenity kits. Each kit, presented in a unique bag celebrating various printing styles of India, contains Ferragamo body lotion, hand cream, lip balm, comfortable socks, a plush eye mask, and an Air India keepsake. The First class kit also includes an Eau de Parfum, making Air India the first airline to feature Ferragamo’s new brand identity in its amenity kits.
Premium Economy passengers will enjoy an updated amenity kit by TUMI, incorporating the Air India Red color and including skincare essentials from the Swedish label, Verso. Economy class amenity kits, exclusive to ultra long-haul flights, are made from premium recyclable and reusable Kraft paper and include an eye mask, socks, and hand lotion.
In terms of sleepwear, First and Business class passengers will continue to experience TUMI’s award-winning loungewear made from recycled materials blended with cotton. The loungewear is designed for style and sustainability and is complemented by plush velour slippers for maximum comfort during the flight.
Air India has also introduced specially made and designed bed linen for First and Business class guests, inspired by the airline’s new global brand identity. This includes sustainable and lightweight duvets and mattress toppers with premium multi-layer materials, enhancing the long-haul sleep experience. The wool-blended blankets for First and Business class feature a delicate jacquard border and motif inspired by the traditional Sozni embroidery of Jammu & Kashmir, making Air India the only airline in the world to offer such blankets.
The dining experience has been enhanced with a collection of exquisite chinaware featuring Mandala patterns and India-inspired designs. First class guests will receive exclusive copper-gold thalis for Indian meals, while Premium Economy passengers will be served in lightweight melamine tableware with an etched Mandala pattern. Business class guests will enjoy lead-free glassware from Slovakia and exquisite stainless-steel cutlery with weight-saving hollow handles, elevating the overall dining experience for passengers.
