Air India, India’s premier global airline, has introduced an extensive collection of content for its state-of-the-art inflight entertainment (IFE) system, promising a captivating experience for passengers on its long-haul flights. The comprehensive IFE content suite encompasses over 2,200 hours across various formats and genres, comprising 1,000 hours of movies, 600 hours of TV, and 600 hours of audio to cater to the preferences of discerning travelers.

This enhanced IFE experience will be available on Air India’s A350, recently incorporated B777-200LR, and upcoming widebody aircraft. Following a $400 million retrofit program starting in the second half of 2024, the legacy widebody fleet will also feature the new IFE system and expanded content.

Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Air India, said: “As Air India takes flight into a new era with the arrival of our A350 aircraft, so does our guests’ entertainment experience. This complete overhaul in our inflight entertainment offering mirrors the dynamic transformation underway at Air India. We’re redefining what it means to fly with us, and this world-class IFE system and carefully curated content are a cornerstone of that commitment.”

From Bollywood classics to Hollywood premieres, global music icons to informative documentaries, and the newly introduced Air India Radio, passengers can now access a diverse range of top-notch content. Boasting the largest library of Indian content in the skies, Air India offers over 250 Indian movies spanning decades and genres, including timeless classics like Sholay and contemporary hits like Kantara and Drishyam 2.

The Hollywood collection includes nearly 200 movies, featuring BAFTA and Oscar-winning titles alongside the latest nominees. Air India’s global cinematic repertoire spans 14 languages, offering critically acclaimed films from around the world, including French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Danish, Icelandic, and Dutch.

The in-flight library also includes an impressive array of over 900 episodes of Western, Indian, and International TV shows and digital content, sourced from leading streaming and OTT platforms such as Paramount, HBO, Prime, Sony Liv, and Hulu. The content includes over 40 full series for an optimal onboard binge-watching experience.

Air India introduces Air India Radio, featuring insightful podcasts, a music collection of 800 choices from various genres, and over 60 curated playlists. For young travelers, the Kids Zone offers more than 55 hours of carefully selected audio and video content, divided into Pre-School, Kids, and Teens sections.

Debuting on its A350 fleet, Air India will showcase ArcTM, an immersive inflight map experience from Panasonic Avionics Corporation, providing passengers with an interactive exploration of the world’s geography, city guides, and street map views. The IFE system on the A350 boasts a flexible architecture, elegant design, and full-HD 1080p monitors, with Business class enjoying a 21-inch HD touchscreen and Premium Economy and Economy guests having 13.3-inch and 12-inch HD touchscreens, respectively.

To complement the visual experience, Air India provides new headsets in all cabins, with Business and Premium Economy guests receiving lightweight, comfortable active noise-canceling headsets, while Economy guests receive reusable earphones. This initiative, along with the new global brand identity rollout and recent Airbus A350 deliveries, signifies Air India’s commitment to leading the renaissance of Indian aviation by offering a blend of world-class products, warm Indian hospitality, and high service standards.
