airBaltic, a prominent airline based in Latvia, has recently unveiled its plan to provide special flight services connecting Riga with Ostrava in the Czech Republic for global travelers and fans. This initiative aligns with the schedule of the Latvian men’s national ice hockey team’s participation in the IIHF 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship.

These exclusive flights are slated for May 11, 13, 17, 20, and 22, offering a unique opportunity for global travelers and fans to witness the thrilling action of the Inter matches live. The airline has introduced a tiered pricing structure for its tickets: Green tickets are priced at 89 EUR, Green Classic at 135 EUR, and Business Class at 199 EUR. Additionally, a singular upsell option is available for those making last-minute bookings or when flights are fully booked. Reservations for these flights can be made on the airline’s official website, www.airbaltic.com.

Martin Gauss, the CEO of airBaltic, expressed enthusiasm about the new service: “In light of the Latvian men’s national ice hockey team’s remarkable performance in the previous year’s championship and due to the overwhelming interest from fans, we are excited to launch a new initiative – pop-up flights. These flights will facilitate travel for Latvian fans to the championship in Ostrava. We are also planning to introduce more of these pop-up flights at fixed prices for various major events and new destinations throughout the year.”

The flight schedule for fans and global travelers is as follows:

Each flight is expected to last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and will be operated using the Airbus A220-300, known for its efficiency and passenger-friendly features such as spacious seating, large windows, ample cabin luggage space, modern lavatories, and overall improved performance and fuel efficiency.

airBaltic offers a comprehensive network of over 100 routes originating from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Tampere, providing extensive connectivity to various global destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
