Alstom secures contract for 20 more Movia C30 Metro trains for SL in Sweden

Alstom, a global leader in intelligent and sustainable mobility, has inked a deal with SL for an additional 20 Movia C30 metro trains as an extension to their existing contract. The initial agreement, initiated in 2013, entailed an order for 96 metro trains with the provision for an extra 80. With the contract extension, Alstom will deliver a total of 116 metro trains or 464 cars, servicing the Stockholm metro system.

Currently deployed on the red line, the C30 metro trains are gradually replacing the older C20 trains, augmenting capacity and modernizing the Stockholm metro network. This expansion aligns with SL’s objective to accommodate over one million passengers daily. Notably, the C30 metro trains have received approval for operation on both the blue and green lines, setting the stage for future enhancements and options.
